TgAb measures antibodies directed against thyroglobulin, a protein produced by the thyroid gland that helps generate thyroid hormones. These antibodies are often present in autoimmune thyroid disorders such as Hashimoto’s thyroiditis and Graves’ disease, and can interfere with thyroglobulin testing used for follow-up of differentiated thyroid cancer.
