Prolactin - PRL

Prolactin is a hormone produced by your pituitary gland, most well-known for its role in milk production and breast development during and after pregnancy.

This blood test measures the level of prolactin, and is used in evaluating conditions such as amenorrhea, infertility, abnormal nipple discharge (galactorrhea), pituitary disorders, and can also help assess sexual dysfunction in men.
